Mar – 2019

March has been an interesting month. Employment or the lack of it is the hot topic. I finished with Sure People some time ago or at least checked out of it after a planned operation trimming. They were nice enough to keep my employment status turned on until I had secured my next one, which was good. In transitioning I wanted to keep my options open and have the time to think through before I started work again but of course, living in London and being a new parent doesn't necessarily translate with efficacy.

I wanted to also use to the opportunity of the next move to help with answering questions around career progression as a designer and what that meant. Of course, that meant scrambling around hurriedly while not getting caught for being found out to be clueless. One natural step seemed to step up the game and climb the ladder by validating my experience. So naturally I started mentoring, I signed up (and got in) on DesignLab and the prospect made me feel excited enough to jump on the plethora of online mentoring opportunities. I ended up with getting on Thinkful, Designed.org, Re:create and RookieUp.

This month our boiler broke mid shower so I also had my first cold water shower which was dreadful. I took cold water showers when I lived in Bangalore and I know now that its something not on the table for life in the UK. Also this month, in personal trimmings, Netflix has gone outta the window as well (for now).

New in side hustle: I might be inching toward my goal of setting up an online poster business as this month I started with purchasing a domain. Nothing on it yet but I am proud to have tinytextdownhere.com

My poor gym habits

My poor gym habits

In the main hustle or to get back into it, I had had a lot and a lot of interviews. I feel better about going through it and as I was hoping; a lot more confident and rounded in structuring my story and answering questions.

In health; I'm semi-paleo this month. I've been to the gym 11 times this month and embarrassingly this is perhaps the most I've been to one.

In movies and telly:

I also watched a lot of TED talks this month and some of my favourite ones were:

That's it for March.
